David and John have been working in the construction industry for a combined 40 years and started their own businesses separately before they joined forces.

After running their successful businesses for 18 years their families were growing up quick and required more of their time which compromised how much time they could spend on their projects. As friends from school they were used to checking in on each other and discussing their challenges!

This is where they both decided to join forces and create Nest Building Group Ltd.

Nest building Group Ltd can offer the same service as both Amic Ltd and The Smart Loft Company but with additional advantages.

With both David and John mainly concentrating on running projects, they can give their clients the upmost service and make their clients building experience a memorable one.

Family is everything to David and John hence their Nest design stating four pillars which resembles the four children they have between them.

They love seeing the faces of a family with a new space and enjoy getting the whole family involved in their home projects.

They both believe that it’s paramount their clients are filled with confidence and both hold up to date DBS certificates.

They both wanted to offer a design and build service which would make sure their clients get exactly what they want out of their home projects but with a builders perspective which concretes the practicality that some architects can’t achieve as well as creating a ‘wow factor’ where possible.

They have handpicked their team which allows them to offer the complete package, from joinery and decorating to all types of finished flooring.

DAVID

David founded Amic Ltd in 2004, a company that specialised in large extensions and conversions, showcasing his deep passion for crafting exceptional spaces that truly enhance the beauty and functionality of homes.

Operating primarily in the Esher and Cheam areas, Amic Ltd distinguished itself by delivering one-of-a-kind projects that set the company apart from other construction firms in the region, ensuring that each client enjoyed a unique and personalised experience tailored to their specific needs and visions.

However, as David embraced the joys and responsibilities of family life, he faced the challenge of finding a harmonious balance between his growing professional commitments and his personal responsibilities, leading him to reevaluate his approach to work and life.

As the director of The Smart Loft Company for over 15 years, John has refined his skills and expertise in transforming even the most complex lofts into beautiful, functional living spaces.

His passion for turning even the most impossible spaces into liveable ones set him apart in the industry. John’s visionary approach and meticulous attention to detail earned him a reputation as an expert in the field of loft conversions. He thrives on challenges, relishing the opportunity to tackle even the most intricate and demanding projects.

His creativity and ingenuity knew no bounds, and his clients marvelled at the stunning transformations he orchestrated over the years.
